Insomniac Games have shared first details and screenshots on Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, its upcoming PlayStation Network title due later this fall.
After a four-player co-op off-shoot, Full Frontal Assault returns Ratchet to his classic camera, weapons, and third-person roots, and adds a tower defense element that will have players building and defending a base against invasions, bringing the game “a whole new level of strategy and decision-making,” according to Insomniac.
The enemy in Full Frontal Assault is new, and apparently has a “nasty surprise” planned for Captain Qwark, who speaking of which, is one of the game’s three playable characters next to Ratchet and Clank.
The game will feature five levels set across three different planets, and allow you and a friend to play together in both split-screen and online co-op play. An online mode set to be revealed at a later date will add replayability to the PlayStation Network title. Also still to be revealed are “loads of upgrades, extra character skins and unlockable content.”
