Nice opening week for Etrian Odyssey, knowing it’s a FP dungeon crawler, which is niche even in Japan. The game was highly advertised, and the playable demo also helped raise awareness for this title for sure, but with Pokeymanz still fresh in players hearts in Japan, it’s only natural this would have a hard time actually claiming the first spot. Nonetheless, it’s a respectable second place!

DQM: TW’s is on route to become the next 3DS million seller, which will most likely happen in a couple of weeks from now (perhaps months? That should be officially announced I’m sure, should it ever happen).

As for Anarchy Reigns….I wasn’t expecting it to be a huge sucess, but I’m shocked to see it rank so low on that chart. Perhaps this wasn’t the best week to release it in Japan, but let’s hope it returns some profit to both Platinum games and Sega eventually.

So glad Etrian is doing well, love that series!

Okay, so, wait a minute! Ghost Recon: Future Soldier outsold Anarchy Reigns… in Japan!!!? What the what? Japan, I am disappoint.

Does Sega suck this bad at marketing games? They can’t even properly market a game at home!!!? Sega, I am disappoint.

P.S. Still wuv you (Sega) for bringing Anarchy Reigns & PSO 2 to the west!

      such a shame :(

wtf japan why the hell did Anarchy Reigns didn’t make top??

didn’t Bayonetta top japanese charts(and the PS3 version to boot)

come on just as we are getting some fresh new games this what happens.

then again with the price of games there, it’s definitely hard to buy multiple games in one go.

Yeah, I’m very disappointed. Let’s hope the sales over time are strong. I hope it does well in the west to.
