Epic Games debuted the first footage of its next-generation engine Unreal Engine 4 on GameTrailers TV last night. For those of you who fell asleep like I did (or simply want to watch it again), GameTrailers has gone up with the full development walkthrough and elemental showcase of the engine. Watch both clips below.

    The presentation is worse that Samaritan Demo although this Unreal 4 Elemental Showcase is better in term of rendering quality. Where is Ray Tracing and SSGI ?

    UE4 tech demo was good but Agni tech demo already has stolen my heart.

      @Rafi: Why do you want ray-tracing when you can use rasterization for so many times less the processing cost and have just as good results? Ray-tracing is for technology demonstrations and movies. Rasterization is for practical use.

    Looks fine but until i see a proper game with characters and scenario taking advantage of this tech i dont care.

    Im done with superb lighting and mega textures that come with no content.

      @Gaara D. Dragon:
      Hahaha……, i’m not sure it just rumor or hoax but Unreal Tournament is get reboot or remake with Unreal 4.

      That tech demo is using single GTX680, but what kind of processor and how much RAM to run it ?

      • rockman29

        @Rafi: GTX680, i7, 16 GB RAM. Go to Eurogamer to get a DF look.

        In essence, the next generation consoles aren’t likely to produce these results. However, being consoles and closed systems which can be more wildly optimized for… they might get close.
