Sony will release PlayStation 3 firmware version 4.20 tomorrow, which introduces a number of new features.

Here is a list of specs, posted earlier by a NeoGAF forum member:

    • The default settings are [After 4 Hours] for [Video/TV/Music/Photo] and [After 1 Hour] for [Game/Other Features].

    FINALLY!

Multi-copying saves, I dont know why this feature wasn’t there to begin with. I hated having to do a full backup of EVERYTHING on the system when I wanted to backup all my saves (because it took far too long to do each save individually). It ended up costing way too much on my eternal harddrives, backing up all demos, videos, saves, install data etc when you did a full backup.

Thank you Sony, THIS is the update I’ve been waiting for!

    Worthless Update

When I update my PS3 tomorrow will it not have the system auto-off already activated? Because when I update to get the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut tomorrow I don’t want my system to automatically turnoff whenever I play. If you ask me it sounds like an annoying feature, It’s like I am a kid again and my mom has set time limits for how much I can play. I prefer it NOT to be activated as soon as I download it, I am hoping that it gives me the option to turn off the auto-off as soon as I download the firmware.
