Sega has released a short game introduction trailer for Phantasy Star Online 2. The clip highlights the MMORPG’s many features, such as the character creator, story, communication features, symbol art, personal room, multi-party areas, seamless weather, interactive events, and more.     The JP Open-Beta is this weekend. I managed to figure out how to sign up, so I’ll get a chance to play it this weekend! Very excited!

    I won’t be able to understand the JP text, but I can at least play it.

    I watched the cinematic that plays before the main menu screen comes up yesterday, it was awesome. :)

      For anyone interested, I’ve been playing for a small bit and took some pictures.

      Some of the cool things I figured out are below…

      You can switch weapons in combat on the fly

      I picked a Hunter and could switch from great sword to the gun blade in mid fight. Each style is unique, the gunblade for example allows you to fire bullets and then go right into sword skills.

      The great sword is slow, but you can block enemy attacks and take more damage per hit.

      Mags can turn into crazy pokemon looking things and do special attacks. They showed one in a cut scene and it was awesome!

      You can cut down grass and I once somehow knocked down a tree.

      The opening cut scene plays in the background on a big screen in the main ship, and on small TVs around the shops.

      If you hit right trigger on the gamepad, you get a scope you can move around to target enemies with. Kinda like a shooter mode or something.

      So many other things I could discuss. I’ve only played it for about 2 hours, but I love it so far. I can’t understand the text though. =P

      Edit: Here is a link to some SS. I named my character Raidou. I gave him cat ears for fun lol.
