Nintendo of Japan hosted an 11-minute gameplay presentation of Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Online at the end of its Nintendo Direct broadcast tonight. Watch the full thing below.
Nice of them to show us what a high-def Dragon Quest would look like at the beginning with the CG cutscene. i.e. the game we’re not getting. >_<
EDIT: Also, dagger through the heart at them re-using the main theme from DQVIII. I guess it's their way of telling us that that was the last traditional Dragon Quest game we're ever getting. T_T
@FearMonkey: I thought that they were planning on releasing this game in the states?
@Miranda Lawson: Well, I don’t think it’s been confirmed for the west yet. But that’s not my point. I’m sayin’ that the CG cutscene at the beginning of the video is what a high-def DQ would look like. But we’re not getting that, we’re getting an MMO with worse graphics than FFXI.
As far as the “traiditional DQ game” goes, I mean, DQVIII was the last traditional DQ game we got. DQIX was a different type of game from prior entries and so is DQX.
The first flagship DQ game I have no interest in at all :/
But we are getting HD DQ as this game is releasing on Wii U, well I say we, the Japanese are getting it.
