Five main characters. Five cities.

This week’s Famitsu features the first in-depth report on Yakuza 5. The game is fully titled Yakuza 5: Granter of Wishes.

The Sega sequel is due for PlayStation 3 this December in Japan. It will star five main characters from five major cities.

Little has leaked, so far. We should receive a more detailed report later.

Thanks, @Sinobintage.

    My body is reggie.

@Hinano: Not sure if you came up with that yourself, but that’s some sexy play on words right there.

@Sal Romano: Haha, I stole it from neogaf. Saw it recently while I was lurking there!

I really hope they’ll localize this. Did they even mention anything about localizations when they had the full report on their loss?

I hope the story is a little less crazy this time hehe.

Glad to see so many cities. One of the big reasons I loved Yakuza 2, aside from all its other perfection.

Great series anyhow. Always has the wow factor, but I really want a more engaging story this time around. Yakuza 3 and 4 were really great games, but I felt like I didn’t care about most of the characters save for a few.

Anyway, looking forward to more Kiryu ass whooping.

    Wow.
    I actually loved Y3 and Y4.
I felt like the stories progressed a grew threw each release Y1 through Y4 respectfully.

@Dc1: I loved Y3 and Y4 too, I just thought the stories lost me a bit more where I connected with the stories in Y1 and Y2 more.

Not knocking the games, the last two just didn’t click with me as much. Love all the games still.

I just bought Yakuza 4 the other day at Amazon and now a Yakuza 5 announcement? Get Hype!!!

Yakuza 3 and 4 got a lot of flak from reviewers but at least the third one (the only one I have played) was amazing. Easily one of my most favorite games of this gen. Gotta love that convoluted story and how badass Kazuma is.

    Granter of Wishes? Really?

Silly title aside, I wonder if they will release 5 outside of Japan?

Considering all the problems Sega is having.

I don’t really doubt this game will come out outside of Japan.
Yakuza seems like a major franchise for them (I don’t know the sales though)
