Toki to Towa, the title of Imageepoch’s upcoming PlayStation 3 RPG, may mean “Toki and Towa,” rather than “Time and Eternity.”
We already know Toki to be the game’s pink-haired female protagonist. Her name means “Time” when written in kanji, but is written in katakana as a play on words. As it turns out, “Towa,” which means “Eternity,” is also a character, Famitsu reveals this week.
Towa (CV: Eri Kitamura) is Toki’s other personality. Towa’s characteristics awaken in Toki after the events of the opening marriage scene (probably what the footage here is all about). Toki transforms into Towa like a mahou shoujo (magical girl). When she does, she becomes the blonde-haired girl shown in the game’s preliminary artwork (pictured). To switch between Toki and Towa, players can either level up, or use pepper. There are also “Memory Places” established around the world that trigger cutscenes for each of them.
In battle, Toki and Towa’s abilities differ. While Toki is skilled at long-ranged attacks (analysis: Toki is holding a gun), Towa is better at close-range attacks (analysis: Towa is holding a knife). Special abilities, called “Gifts,” can be acquired separately.
Thanks, Sokuho@Hokanko.
