Sony is preparing a PlayStation Plus revamp for reveal at it E3 press conference next week, according to “multiple” Eurogamer sources.
The revamp includes Sony giving away “top tier” games for free, and implementing proper integration with PlayStation Vita, meaning Vita-exclusive titles and download content, as well as cloud services that throw away the need to connect the handheld and PlayStation 3 to one another in order to back up saves.
And there’s plenty more to it.
Apparently, the revamp is only the beginning of a wider effort to improve the PlayStation Network across multiple devices. The coming year may include a new, redesigned PlayStation Store “that also facilitates purchases from a proper PC web store similar to Xbox Marketplace.”
Eurogamer’s report also includes an update on the rumored cloud deal from Sony. While the deal could be announced at E3, its sources say it may not directly relate to PlayStation consoles, but to Sony televisions.
