It can "change the future of video games."

Cloud-based gaming service Gaikai will be at E3 next month. And it will have a “major” announcement.

Gameblog.fr (via NeoGAF) received an invitation to a Gaikai event at the show, which reads: “Gaikai has major announcements in store for E3, which have the potential to change the future of video games, game consoles and how we play.”

Yesterday, it was rumored Sony will announce a partnership with a major cloud gaming service, Gaikai being the number one contender next to OnLive. These two may be connected.

    The rumor is TRUE!

      @MGB:

      Sounds like it.

    Well, isn’t this interesting. Really looking forward to E3 now. Was sorta “oh, it’s E3 time again already? cool” before but now, I sorta can’t wait. :p

    Don’t care about it. I can’t even play online for a year where I am stationed at. I can’t support a service that doesn’t allow me to play my games offline.

      @Keegs79: Yeah. I can relate to that.

      I hope this big announcement with Gaikai and Sony isn’t them coming out and saying that the PS4 is online only. That is, the PS4 is a thin terminal with no processing power of it’s own that just displays games being rendered/powered from online servers.

      That’d be the beginning of the end.
      Well, it would eliminate piracy – but still..
