Different Tuna today announced Derreck the Deathfin for PlayStation Network. The world’s “very first underwater papercraft game,” it follows the story of Derrick, whose parents are “brutally turned into soup,” out on a rampage to make himself feel better. It’s set in an “irreverent aquatic world” full of “paper, goofy fish, paper, arcade action, paper, [and] wanton destruction.”
The game features 32 levels set across 11 environments and four continents. Derrick will need to eat to stay alive, and must “move, groove, jump, race and puzzle” his way through each stage’s challenges.
Different Tuna describest the game as the “illegitimate lovechild of Ecco the Dolphin and Sonic the Hedgehog.”
The game is due this summer. Watch the debut trailer below. Check out the first screenshots at the gallery.
