Japanese release remains unchanged.

The western release of Anarchy Reigns has been delayed by publisher Sega, according to a post on developer Platinum Games’ website.

According to the post, the release date, which was set for July 3 in North America and July 6 in Europe, has now been changed to “TBC” (to be confirmed) by the publisher.

“While our work on the game is finished, localized, and ready to go,” the post said, “as publisher, SEGA gets to make the final decision as to when it is released. The Japanese release date, however, remains unchanged for July 5, 2012.”

A video is also included in the post, in which it is said that Sega still intends for the game to see a western release in July, and that the Japanese version of the game will include every available language, if you wish to import.

European retail websites, such as Amazon and Play, still list the game’s original release date.

Thanks, Eurogamer.

I am very disappointed…The fans have been waiting for so long and this is like the 3rd delay…Ugh SEGA is annoying…Do they not want avoid the Q4 game rush? :(

@Genesis: SEGA has been ‘bad business decision central’ for years, from the horrible support for Virtua Fighter 5 until now. I’m hardly surprised, and their current financial situation is largely their own making.

        @DrForbidden: I’ve noticed…It’s pretty pathetic

    Sega West = epic fail.

WTH man. That sucks … guess i’ll cancel my preorder from gamestop and just buy it on amazon.

I hate it when we have to wait longer for something that could come out the SAME time as japan.(it was gonna be earlier for us i think.)

Damnit SEGA … You always find a way to fuck up something.

“the Japanese version of the game will include every available language”

Whats the point of localizing then? I’ll just get that….

    • DrForbidden

@Kobracon: Uhh… ‘include every available language’ may well refer to the audio. The menus and text are probably still all in Japanese…

@Kobracon: It’s already localized. I’m guessing what you’re saying is “What’s the point of bringing it here?” And that’s to actually have it available for purchase at a local store. Not everyone who wants the game is going to import it. And not everyone knows about it, so there’s no ‘going into a store and impulse buying’ scenarios then, either.

      • Kobracon

@Sal Romano: Ah. True indeed. Not everyone imports…but I guess this opens up an option for all the ppl who can’t wait. They can just import and there’d be no problem. Hmm…actually maybe the network play will be a prob…..is there any info if the Jap version will only go to the Jap network?
