Risen 2: Dark Waters, originally scheduled to launch for consoles on May 22 in North America and on May 25 in Europe, will now launch for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on July 31 in North America and on August 3 in Europe. A PC release is still scheduled for April 27 in both territories.

The console versions will offer extra content. An addtional episode, called “The Air Temple,” adds “several hours” of additional gameplay. It sees the hero embark on a quest to discover a lost temple said to be the source of air magic. After hearing rumors that his old friend Eldric was seen in Antigua, the hero knows he needs to pick up his trail in order to find Storm Island, where the temple is located. A screenshot of the sub-plot has been posted above.

    As long as they make it right and don’t screw up again, like with the 360 version of Risen, they can take their sweet time.

        @Rafi:
        Yeah, I played it on PC a while ago.
        Well, as a big Gothic fan I loved it.
        What can I say, if you played Gothic you know what you’re getting into.
        But Risen’s fighting system is way better! ;)
