See CyberConnect2 fighter .hack//Versus in action.

Namco Bandai has released a teaser trailer for its recently announced .hack Sekai no Mukou ni + Versus Hybrid Pack.

When played on a standard Blu-ray player, access includes only the CG film, .hack//Sekai no Mukou Ni. When played on a PlayStation 3, the disc allows players access to a new .hack fighting game, .hack//Versus, as well as the CG film.

Catch the debut gameplay of .hack//Versus in the trailer below at around 1:46. Around 1:55, it’s confirmed this is the same .hack title teased earlier this year. If you missed the screenshots earlier today, catch them here.

Nice trailer.. I hope the movie has english subtitles..

I really doubt this will get localized… so I have my fingers crossed for the movie to have english subs so I can import it. The game text wouldn’t matter much since its a fighting game anyway.

sooooooooooooooo this is my five cents. 1)It seems to use the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm battle system (I assume Skeith would be their awakening thingie) 2) If number 1 is correct then it’s safe to assume it will have CyberConnect 2 involved with the ost 3) If number 1 is correct (again) then MAYBE the ultimate attacks will be HEAVY like in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm (the first one). 4) Localization chances? meh…..

Maybe it’s because I’ve never played a .hack game before but what’s up with the two different CG styles at the first half of the video?

One part has more detail and the other has a cell-shaded CG Appleseed-style look to it. Both look great. I just don’t get why there’s two different styles.

Frankly, I’m surprised we don’t Sony pushing packs like this more often. If they want to sell the benefit of Blu-ray over download-only games and movies they’d do more pack-ins where the Blu-ray has some kind of exclusive PS3 interactive feature that you can only get with Blu-ray.

Even if the content was crap at least it would keep Blu-ray relevant. I have no intention of giving up my Blu-ray collection but with cloud services becoming more and more popular Sony needs to push the idea that Blu-ray is still a viable and necessary format. Unless, of course, they’re trying to get out of the physical media game too.

@incredibilistic: It’s because one style is of the real world, and the other is that of an online game within the movie world.
