Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena is coming to North America with a simpler title, Atlus has announced. Due in summer 2012, Persona 4 Arena is a Persona 4-based fighting game developed by BlazBlue and Guilty Gear creators Arc System Works.
You’ll play as characters such as Teddie, Chie Satonaka, Aigis, and others – each with their own unique move sets – and unleash ‘devastating power’ in the arena. The game uses “gorgeous, hand-drawn, high definition 2D anime-style fighters and colorful, over-the-top special effects to bring to life characters from the acclaimed, highly popular Persona 3 and Persona 4.”
Here’s the story: “No sooner has the mysterious deaths at the heart of Persona 4 been resolved than terrible new rumors emerged. A new TV show, a fighting tournament, is said to pull its stars in against their wills, forcing them to face off in battles with deadly stakes.”
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature console-exclusive story and online modes. A new set of screenshots can be seen at the gallery.

Awesome. Atlus rocks.
Lovely news! No surprise at all :D
YES!!! :D
Hurray! :)
It would be better if they release Persona 4 remastered on PS3/360 or something like that.
You know, to help the sell. Coz it’s featuring P4 characters, and gamer who doesn’t yet play the game back on the PS2 will not find it appealing.
Still, good news …
@ekka4shiki: Nah, they just need to announce Persona 4: The Golden for the west. My PSVita is ready for it.
Did they mention it including Japanese audio as well? I know Atlus has trouble with dual-language options on their games, but it’s also Arc System Works so I figured there’s a better chance because of that.
kewl. though i wonder who the villain who’d be this time? And is the story canon?
