Seven jobs, casual mode revealed.

Atlus is bringing the fourth entry in the Etrian Odyssey to 3DS. This week’s Famitsu has first details on Etrian Odyssey IV, set to arrive on the handheld on July 5, for 6,279 yen, in Japan.

Daisuke Kaneda is acting as director on the project, Nizou Yamamoto as background artist, Shin Nagasawa as monster designer, Yuji Himukai as character designer, and Yuzo Koshiro is on sound.

Seven jobs were revealed in the magazine, including: swordsman, medic, sniper, and dancer. A casual mode is being added to the game’s difficulty settings for beginners. Difficulty can be changed at any time during the game.

The game’s official site will be available at sq4.atlusnet.jp, which is scheduled to open in the near future.

Thanks, Sinobi.

That’s awesome. Etrian Odyssey Is a great RPG/dungeon crawler. I’m Not sold on the casual mode, but the game can be a little hard so I guess it’s ok.

I wonder how the game is going to use the 3DS’s gimmick.

It’s not going to, cause it’s a useless gimmick

Wish they’d release these game on PSN or steam or something non gimmicky /portable

“A casual mode is being added to the game’s difficulty settings for beginners” I like this idea. I bought 3 when it came out in the US and put a lot of hours into it but never got anywhere because there was so much grinding required for minimal progress. It wasnt a bad game tho

@Kougeru: That sounds suspiciously similar to my experience with The Dark Spire. XD
