Hi, all! Hope your Friday went well. It’s the most lovely day of the week, so if it didn’t, try and have a better one next week!

I’m actually really tired and want to hit the hay, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up about some downtime that’ll hit the site tomorrow (today, technically), sometime in the morning or afternoon.

I’ll be updating a few things in the site’s back end, turning all of the ScrawlFX.com links and images embedded in the site archives into Gematsu.com links, and shifting the ScrawlFX.com URL into a full redirect to Gematsu.com, rather than have it maintain its current shared status with Gematsu.com.

The downtime shouldn’t be long. Probably 30 minutes at most. I’ll be turning off the comments when I start, so if you’re able to visit the site but aren’t able to comment, you’ll know the process has begun.

After we’re back up, I’ll be posting a new Discussionist, and I believe Adam should be getting up his impressions of the Final Fantasy XIII-2 demo.

That’s about it for tonight. I’m going to sleep. Hopefully to dream about bacon-filled hamburgers. And onion rings. God, I love onion rings.

    So the site was down all day. My apologies. You go into something thinking it’ll be simple 30 minute procedure and complications end up making it 11 hours.

    Sorry to those who were trying to access the site today. Everything’s up and running now, though.

    Today’s promised content will go up tomorrow.

    Just another small update – and once again I apologize. Adam’s Final Fantasy XIII-2 demo impressions has not yet gone up today, as you’ve probably noticed. I’ve been trying to get in touch with Adam to make sure it’s complete – not sure if he wants to add more, remove some, you know – but I haven’t been able to get to him today.

    It’ll definitely go up tomorrow. Once again, super sorry about the delay.

    But in other news – good news, actually – I’ve been working all day on the site’s load speeds and discovered a deficiency in the site that was really messing with our server load. Luckily, I was able to get rid of it, decreasing our server load 85 percent. And you’ll probably notice, too, as the site should display itself much faster from now on.
