Clears up retirement concerns.

Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, and other Nintendo IP creator Shigeru Miyamoto is working on an “undisclosed original title.”

Speaking to Zoomin.TV, Miyamoto mentions the new project, and says he doesn’t feel any pressure in creating a new title.

Miyamoto also shares his thoughts on developing “photo realistic” games, and clears up any remaining concern from a Wired interview which incorrectly stated Miyamoto would retire.

“But to be clear, I have no intention to retire at all. I’m not old enough to think about retirement right now,” he said.

I can’t wait to see what it is! I think Pikmin was the last new IP Nintendo made (I don’t count Wii Music or any of that stuff) so something new is definitely what Nintendo needs.

For the sake of diversity, I hope Myamoto keeps away from photo realistic games. Don’t get me wrong, I like photo realistic games, but…when you have games looking as gorgeous as Skyward Sword did, I feel we’re really lucky for having lots of different games and artstyles topick from.
