Dragon’s Dogma, Capcom‘s upcoming open-world action title, will launch for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America on May 22, and in Europe on May 25. Those who purchase the title will be granted access to a playable demo of Resident Evil 6, which is due out November 20.
Each copy of the game will come bundled with a redeem code for the demo. Xbox 360 buyers will be able to redeem the code months earlier than PlayStation 3 buyers, beginning July 3 globally. The PlayStation 3 demo will go live in North America on September 4 and in Europe a day later.
Dragon’s Dogma, itself, is an all-new franchise. As Pawns, players will fight alongside their AI partners, utilizing abilities and traits they’ve developed, in a “rich, living, and breathing [open] world.” Players will be able to share their Pawns online with friends, earning “treasure, knowledge of the world and strategies for taking down enemies,” as rewards. The game will ship with “thousands” of ready-made Pawns, as well.
Pre-order incentives were also announced:
- GameStop – ‘Pawn Upgrade Pack’ – will give players additional Rift Crystals allowing them to rent higher level experience Pawns from the outset.
- Best Buy – ‘Armor Upgrade Pack’ – will deliver higher level armour and weapons respectively giving players a real advantage when tackling the toughest of enemies.
- Amazon.com – ‘Weapon Upgrade Pack’ – will deliver higher level armour and weapons respectively giving players a real advantage when tackling the toughest of enemies.
