Capcom teases “big plans” for Street Fighter’s 25th anniversary
Ryu in search of "the perfect battle."
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Street Fighter franchise. On August 30, 1987, the first Street Fighter made its debut in Japanese arcades, and Capcom has big plans to celebrate the legacy it’s created.
“For 25 years Street Fighter‘s iconic hero [Ryu] has wandered the globe in search of the perfect battle, and to commemorate his quest – not to mention the millions of fans who’ve followed him every step of the way – we’re preparing some big plans for 2012,” said Capcom community manager Brett Elston on Capcom-Unity. “The full details of this international celebration are still to come, but I can at least share the official logo that’ll emblazon all related products through the year.”

Not interested. 3 versions of SF4 and 2 versions of MVC3 in 6months time not even counting the Vita port of UMVC3……sue me for being a little burnt out on the capcom milk machine.
At least Ed Boon and crew waited the better part of a year to announce and plan to launch a Komplete edition of MK.
@Malcolm Reynolds: I know what you mean. But I wouldn’t count the Vita port as something against them – it’s just another system to play the game on.
@Sal Romano: I understand where you’re coming from…..I just don’t think we need yet another system to play a capcom fighter on.
As another poster mentioned……what about Mega Man. MML3 would’ve caused me to buy a 3DS for meself instead of just getting one as basically a throw away for my daughter to learn on. Ah well.
@Malcolm Reynolds: Cap said last year that they have plans – http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/28630447/Mega_Mans_impending_25th_anniversary&post_num=17#511802455
@Malcolm Reynolds: All the versions you mentioned were great sales successes. If people want milk, what’s wrong with feeding them? Let capitalism be as long as there are people willing to buy, and in this case there!
What about Megaman! This year is also Megaman’s 25th anniversary! Come on Capcom! COME ON!
@Finalshoryuken: The Blue Bomber is dead. Let him rest in Peace as Capcom had basically killed him and shat on his remains. Sad that.
I agree with all of you i’m tired of CAPCOM milking SF & MVSC3. Just give us what characters we want. I’m aware Gambit won’t be put in cause he’s not in any current MArvel comics, same with Cable.
But at least with the MK Komplete Edition I will get for PS3. I won’t get less for my money like CRAPCOM did with Ultimate MVSC3.
enough with everything about RYU from SF what about KEN MASTERS he’s a character I grew up playing on SFII on Arcades back in the early 90′s.
Ultimate Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade edition version 2012 25th anniversary

*generic next version of X fighting game joke*
Shame on you Capcom, Shame on you…
