    Did Japan become retarded? Why didn’t they buy more PSVitas?

    They better just be waiting for homebrew, otherwise they seriously need a smack to the face…

      @rockman29:

      Japan is retarded and need to be slapped? Seriously…

    • FaithlessMr

      @rockman29:
      Because the games currently released alongside the system don’t appeal to them. That’s mostly the reason why.

      I do think that after Tales of Innocence, Ragnarok Odissey, Ys and Persona 4 the Golden things will slowly change.

      Anyway, glad to see Final Fantasy XIII-2 still on the top 10, and I still have hopes it will break the one million mark domestically eventually :)

    @rockman29:

    No, they aren’t falling for Sony’s PSone/PS2 tactics. No memory cards included, high costs for the cards, etc. Sony flopped the Vita just like they do everything else. Sony doesn’t need to be rewarded for continuing to ignore their losses.

    • Malcolm Reynolds

      @Seijien: I have said this before and I will say it again.

      THE MEMORY CARDS ARE NOT OVERPRICED.

      I paid $250 for my PSP in March of 2005.
      I paid $54-damn-.99 for a 512mb memory stick pro
      I paid $40 for each of 4 games that day as well

      Fast fwd to 2011 and a 4GB memory stick for the VITA is $19.99. That is 8 times the memory that cost me $54.99 just 6 years ago on the PSP.
      The price of the WiFi Vita is $249.99 and the amount of HW under the hood is 10 times that or more of the original PSP all for the same price in the weakest economy the US has had in many many years.

      The launch lineup for the VITA is possibly the best launch lineup of games in Video Game History.

      I have said all that to make this point to whiners like you:

      GET A DAMN JOB and quit crying. My God the self entitlement cry baby generation never ceases to surprise me with the lengths they will go piss and moan.

      /end rant

    • Malcolm Reynolds

      @Seijien: uh oh….double post!

      Those PS1/PS2 tactics brought us the TWO GREATEST GAMING LIBRARIES SINCE THIS HOBBY’s INCEPTION.

      Those same tactics of charging for proprietary add ons have been taken to the extreme and beaten to death by none other than Nintendo and Micrshaft as well.

      see ex: Nintendo Circle Pad Pro for the 3DS.

      See HORRID launch lineup of games and a cool 6 months of ZERO releases worth mentioning after said launch of the 3DS. Here we are 10 months later and it is just now getting a couple of games to be happy about.

      You Sony haters are Legion.

      p.s. I bought my daughter a pink 3DS and probably play it more than she does. Not bashing the system or its good games….just bashing the joke that Nintendo calls a launch.

  • http://xcite79.1up.com Keegs79

    The problem with the Vita is software. They need a major title for the system. Most of the great games are western influenced titles. There isn’t a whole lot that attract Japanese gamers.

    • Malcolm Reynolds

      @Keegs79: My buddy was in Japan the whole month of Dec. He brought me a surprise copy of DREAM CLUB ZERO as a gag gift.

      that title will never make it out here. It is distinctly Japanese as it appears to be a booby grabbing dating sim to the best of my knowledge.

      This thing has an amazing launch lineup. I would agree it caters more to the US and EUR markets but Uncharted is pretty universal as is Mod Nation, and Ridge Racer.

      I think Ninty dropping the price of the 3DS 6 months after release has more to do with the Japanese holding off on Vita’s…..They think Sony will drop the price as well….and it may work. But as stated, we can thank Ninty’s botched 3DS launch for that.

      • Lumpen

        @Malcolm Reynolds: I don’t think it’s any secret that Japanese gamers are vastly different from UK/US gamers. That being said, there was no Monster Hunter game with the release of the Vita… and the 3DS was not doing well anywhere (Including Japan) until MH3G was released.

        The only Monster Hunter game that is being released on the NGP is MHP3rd, which was already released on the PSP and in HD on the PS3 so there will be no reason for Japanese gamers to buy a NGP until another main title hits.

        Little gamer fairies everywhere are dying after your “amazing launch lineup” statement included Mod Nation and Ridge Racer.

      • Lumpen

        @Malcolm Reynolds: uh oh… double post!

        I think Seijien was just referring to the fact that 3DS’ came with free memory cards. Which you have to admit is very handy, despite the price being very fair compared to other memory card prices. I know that was a major turn-off to the original PSP for me, just because I felt that a small internal memory to save games on should be standard in any gaming device.

        A small internal memory to allow me to save games until I required larger amounts of space (For PSN stuff/Data Install/etc) is very attractive. It’s very noticeable (In a negative way) when you open a brand new system and find out you can’t save games until you complete another trip to the store.
