The Last Guardian executive producer exits SCEJ
Hayama moves to Bossa for 3D social game.

Yoshifusa Hayama, who was producing Sony Japan’s upcoming The Last Guardian, has resigned his position as executive producer at Team Ico for a creative directing job at the London-based Tech City studio Bossa. His first project is a 3D social game.

According to Hayama, the future of gaming “is definitely online and thanks to recent developments with Flash 11, there is no reason why a social game can no longer be as visually stunning and as compelling as the big console titles.”

Last week, rumors emerged claiming Fumito Ueda, director of the upcoming Team Ico threequel, had left the company to pursue personal projects, though, is still working on The Last Guardian as a freelancer. Sony has yet to confirm or deny these rumors.

Thanks, Develop.

Oh wow… he sure is “moving up” huh? Steps down an incredible project like TLG and goes into social gaming? Pfft. Money grabber.

Maybe he just wants to make different types of games or work in a different environment lol. Games development at large studios always sounds like a great deal of stress, not that all developers working on smaller games have the advantage of a low-stress environment. It seems like at smaller studios with lesser numbers of staff and smaller publishers and such people get to have more control over projects.

Hopefully it’s all on good terms.

This is not a good sign. I can only hope that The Last Quardian will not be cancelled….

@Chaos Raiden: Of course it wouldn’t be cancelled! It is very far in development. Even without him, they have the foundation for the game and the blueprints. Cancelling it would be ridiculous. It is one of most anticipated titles.

Honestly like who cares about this crap? They been hyping Last Guardian forever since the PS3 came out…And still no solid information. I wont be surprise they announced the PS4 and it still never comes out. I mean does it really take 5 years to bring out a game?

@TruTrini4LYFE: It takes 5 years to make an amzing game

I was a Flash developer in 2009 making small Flash game for web or mobile. And my biggest dream that i become a PS3 game developer in any positions. But due to my country state that dream became fantasy. And now he … why ?

    Good luck.

Who tosses up the opportunity to work on one of the most treasured games in gaming history for a bloody social game? This moronic imbecile, obviously.

This sounds like a step backwards to me. Social Gaming, as they call it, is hardly the sort of thing I’d expect someone with this pedegree to go into. Dont get me wrong, I have nothing against social gaming if that’s your cup of tea (personally I hate it with a passion), but leaving SCEJ to work on such things, and leaving TLG? Very odd.
