Travel to the future and past in Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Square Enix Japan put out a new trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2 tonight – its third in a series of system-based videos published on the game’s official website.

Tonight’s trailer takes a look at the Historia Crux system, selecting locations/times and showing off the field chosen. The system is used by protagonists Noel and Serah in game to travel to the past, present, and future.

And since we missed them earlier, we’ve also attached the first two trailers – Battle Basics and Battle Expert – uploaded to the official Japanese Final Fantasy XIII-2 site sometime this past week. Watch them below.

    Yes, so amazing videos…

    I thought the first and most important rule of time travel was you never ever change the past :P

    That’s probably why Kaias is after Noel.

      @NCloud:
      Not changing anything using time-travel? That would make a very boring time-travelling game, lol.

    Damnit. Hate to say it, but I’m sold. The landscapes are just too beautiful.

  • chinglee

    Holy sh*t the environment, the landscape, branching paths and overall openness is amazing :O

    Why wasn’t english environment video as good as the Japanese one XD

  • Sovereign Gale

    Oh man, the city showcased at the end is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. You could say the same for the other environments, but DAMN…

    The more I see footage for this game, the more I realize how FF XIII had the potencial to be much, much more than what it accomplished. And the more I realize how amazing this will most likely turn out to be.

    Right now, I dropped all of my defenses, and I’ve turned on my “Final Fantasy fanboy” mode to the max, and I’m hyping this a lot :3

    The Fields/Historia Crux trailer is by far the best of all that were released.

      @FaithlessMr: Well said, man. I enjoyed XIII, and if things had been done just a bit more differently, it could very easily have become one of my favorite Final Fantasy games. Oh well, XIII-2 does seem like everything I hoped the predecessor would be. =D I can’t wait.

        @Sovereign Gale:
        Yeah, I truly felt there was much more beyond what was actually made in XIII, and whereas back when this was announced I felt this would simply be a way for SE to make some quick cash, I now am glad they took their time to work this out, because it looks to correct all the flaws that the original had.

        I can’t wait either :)

    I loved XIII and I very few complaints against it. It’s definitely in my top 2 favorite FF’s. Yeah it had some flaws, but it had the best mythology out of all of the FF’s and the character development was fantastic. I’m really glad they improved aspects of the game that fans complained about. I know the lack of cities, NPC interaction, and shops were a big let down to many fans. Man I can’t wait until this comes out!
