Latest Zelda takes to the sky.

The review embargo for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword lifted this morning, allowing the first online reviews for the latest Zelda adventure to surface.

Like yesterday’s hits, you’ll see plenty of perfect and near-perfect scores. It seems we’re in a season full of gems.

See the (constantly updating) list of scores below. Note that we’ve only just received our copy, but will still have our review up before launch day, November 20.

    Wow…. just wow. If there ever was a game that deserved my money this year it’s this one.
    Only 9 more days to wait.

    • Kougeru

      @zerolegacy0: BAH. I was trying to avoid a countdown but now I cant thanks to you! Curses. Cannot.Wait.

      • zerolegacy0

        @Kougeru: lol, sorry about that!

  • Sal Romano

    Been playing this a bit today. Loving it so far. Trying to get through it as fast as possible so we can get up our review. Give me a few days, everyone!

    Wish i have a Wii :(

    Sadly I’m not a fan of motion controls. Good for Zelda though.

    • Kougeru

      @captainhowdy: I’m not either, but from what I’ve seen…it’s amazing in this game and is just plain more fun. Also adds difficulty since the enemies, for the first time in ANY video game…can actually block your attacks from different directions forcing you to adjust and actually think instead of just spam a single button.

    Wonder if my emulator can handle it….

    Gamespot review is a joke. His ONE complaint no one else complains about,in fact they say the OPPOSITE making his entire review invalid. Also he subtracted a full 2.5 points for his ONE complaint. I think he’s mad Nintendo doesnt pay people for reviews or his controller was broken. Even pirates don’t have issues with the controls when this ONE GUY does….he’s a troll for sure.

    • Sal Romano

      @Kougeru: I didn’t have time to check out the review and am currently working to finish up the game myself (pushing for Friday for our review). What was his one complaint?

      • Kougeru

        @Sal Romano: “Poor controls” The other dozens of reviews I’ve read have done nothing but praise the controls. The guy on gamespot complains about them and how they are “often” broken and fail to work. Some gamefaq posters are saying the guy probably just sucks at the game, I don’t know. I honestly think his controller is probably just busted…Then again it’s the same reviewer who gave shovelwave games higher scores than he gave Skyward Sword. A quick google search of his name, Tom Mcshea brought up more complaint threads about him underrating games. Maybe it’s to get more views? Who knows. I can’t wait to read your review though, as you seem to actually be taking your time with it.

    @Kougeru

    I can’t get into motion controls, I workout and also work. When I play games, I don’t want to swing my arms playing them. I just want to relax and play with a controller.

    That’s good for you that you and other people are enjoying it. I just can’t get into it.

    • Kougeru

      @captainhowdy: That’s valid. I can’t think of other ways they could do the combat like this though without reverting back to “A A A A A A A A”. There’s a lot of other great games this year fortunately

  • whedonfreak976

    @Kougeru I am glad you are excited to play what is in my mind, the best game of the year. And with the stiff competition out this year, that is saying a lot. I think this is the best Zelda game ever :D And with TP, OOT, and ALTTP coming in next in line :D I love the Wind Waker art style :D

  • captainhowdy

    @Kougeru

    I’m happy they nailed the motion controls for people who enjoyed it, the PS Move games have a lot of catching up to do.

    Your right about this year having games for everyone. This year and next year will be huge for gaming (which is good for all of us).

    I want this game
