Square Enix dates three PSone Classics

Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy V and VI incoming.

Square Enix has claimed this winter to be a “Winter of RPGs.” It’s launching a new campaign on PlayStation Network to bring three of its biggest games to the PSone Classics service over the next month.

On November 8, Square Enix will release Chrono Cross, the highly-praised sequel to Chrono Trigger, on the PlayStation Store. Two weeks later, on November 22, Final Fantasy V will release. And finally, on December 6, Final Fantasy VI will launch.

“While you’re staying inside and out of the cold, icky weather, why not fire up your PS3 and play some classic RPGs?” asks Square Enix product manager Charles McCarter.

I can’t think of any reason not to.

I just hope these come to the European PSN… but I’m not holding my breath.

    Still, good news!

FF V and VI are already up in our psn, got both the moment they were put on sale :3

Now, Chrono Cross…THAT’S the one we must bring over to our store someday. What an awesome, amazing and breathtaking gaming experience that piece of videogame media is.

@FaithlessMr: As if you don’t know me well enough to know I only cared about Chrono :p

Blasphemy! FF V is actually a great game, you should give it a try. I still have that FF VI I borrowed from you though…:3

@FaithlessMr: After I burn through my backlog :p It’s on “the list” ;)

Anyway, I’d really like Chrono to come overseas legally. But the way SCEE takes care of these things, plus all the legal problems… maybe the import section on PSN will help

It should come, given the insane demand that exists for the game in europe. Pretty much everyone and their mother asked for the game when they took in some suggestions/requests before the import section went up, and to this day, lots of user still suggest this particular game.

So, we play the waiting game.

I’ll have to get these during calm moments and there’s nothing to play.
