Rumor: Dragon Quest VII or Final Fantasy VII “remix” coming to 3DS
Tipster claims knowledge of megaton announcement.

Nintendo will announce a remix to the seventh game of a famous Japanese role-playing game series for 3DS at next year’s sales celebration meeting, according to the latest internet rumors.

The tip comes from a NeoGAF member who’d apparently been told by the same source about Monster Hunter Tri G a year prior to its unveil.

The source calls it a “megaton” announcement.

Fans are speculating it to be one of two games: Dragon QUest VII or Final Fantasy VII. Though, some note a Dragon Quest VII remake for the handheld was rumored once in the past.

        I would hope so because I wouldn’t expect and hope for more from Final Fantasy VII. I want a console remake with all the fixings!

    If a FFVII remake is announced for the 3DS I will stab someone. Fans have been screaming for how long to have a proper HD remake of that? Ugh.

        @Rezar: No hate for the system itself… but I would 1000x rather a full blown HD remake, proper on a big powerful console. Something akin to that tech demo we saw so many years ago now.

    it’s definitely not FF. I’d say DQ VII first, (which I love so much) just because FF has been going through remakes 1-4 first, next would be 5-6. And well, everyone knows in their hearts that FFVII is not coming yet.

    It will almost certainlly be Dragon Quest as far as I can tell. Anyway, I love the 3DS (just wish it had more games), but I dont think its the right platform for a FFVII Remix or remake.

    I would mind VII on the 3DS but I have a feeling that it’s gonna be DQVII since they remade quite a handful of DQ games for the DS.

    But the reaction from rabid FFVII fans would be priceless. Hopefully none of them commit suicide if it were to happen though xD

    Final Fantasy VII remake rumour number 9001?

    I seriously wouldn’t believe this until some more solid confirmation on the matter is made public. Still, I’d rather have a Dragon Quest VII “remix” (lol) than a FF VII remake, coz Europe never got to play DQ VII and at least we would be able to do so if this was true :)

      @FaithlessMr: DQ VII was awesome for me. But it seems to be least popular among the DQ fans. :D

        I haven’t tried it myself, but Dragon Quest games usually boast some quality because they all pretty much play the same, aside from aesthetical or script differences :P
