22 minutes of gameplay footage.

2-minute cutscene clips? Ha! Try 8-minute gameplay videos. Level-5 released four new videos of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch tonight, showcasing a total of 22-minutes’ worth of direct-feed footage.

You’ll see the town, dungeons, ice, bosses, and more.

The game’s out for PlayStation 3 on November 23 in Japan, and in early 2012 in North America and Europe.

    Beautiful…Simply stunning. This is the living proof that we can have HD rpgs that play out like they always did and should. This game seemingly mixes up old and new, and manages to bring the genre a good portion of fresh air without anihilating everything the aforementioned genre actually stands for.

    It took them a while, but it seems we’re getting the HD rpgs we’ve been craving for ever since 2006/7. Level 5 is doing for the ps3 what they did for the ps2 with Dragon Quest VIII, by showing how a classic/old school like rpg can work just fine. Also, it’s funny to notice some of the Level5 game features that usually appear in all of their other games, such as the item mixing thingie (this time, it’s a genie in a lamp that does it, eh!), having a golden star on the mini map telling the player where to go, having the player use in game items and spells to travel through the environment, or having special battle animations. It draws heavily from Rogue Galaxy. The icy fields/towns reminded me of Dragon Quest VIII’s own icy area and town/townsfolk, and the flying dragon reminded me of the bird in DQ VIII as well.

    Yes, I soaked in everything I could from these videos :D

    This game has to be with Japanese audio and subtitles in English or Spanish for me :) The voices acting are great!

    One more thing, Why they never made a pokemon game with these characteristics, I think they will broken the record sales worldwide.

    Today I have 24 years old but at the time i like pokemon´s game, a game like this would have been the cream. if you know what i mean.

      @TheDarkCloud:
      24 years old here as well, and I can tell you I bought Pokemon Black simply because I felt it was the only one after the truckload of Pokeymanz games that actually improved on the formula since Red/Blue.

      And from what I saw in that game, it seemed the company behind the games are finally willing to make some necessary changes and steps towards some new mechanics, so I’d hope they’d take a page or two from this game’s battle system. Don’t have anything against the turn based systems, but to simply have the ability of fighting the enemies on your own, without using them critters would be astonishingly, mindblowingly good.

      Or maybe not that good, but good nonetheless :P

      @FaithlessMr: @TheDarkCloud: Here another 24 years old guy… but I do not like Pokemon as before from Ruby and Sapphire versions.:P

      But Ni no kuni got my attention and will buy it…. day one for me!. xD

        @dart2087:

        I don´t like pokemon enymore, but if they made a game of this style like 5 or 6 years ago, should be one of the best ever made.

        Ni no kuni looks great !
