DmC Devil May Cry’s Dante different from original Dante

Game set in parallel world.

The Dante in Ninja Theory’s DmC Devil May Cry is not the same Dante from Capcom’s Devil May Cry. Ninja Theory’s game, explains the latest Dengeki PlayStation, is set in a parallel world.

Ninja Theory suggested the game take place in an alternate setting, according to the magazine. That way white-haired Dante could still exist in his own world (and in Marvel vs. Capcom 3).

DmC Devil May Cry is due for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Thanks, Siliconera.

its going to be a bad game

      @Zoro-FF:

Why? Because it’s not going to use that awfully dated DMC gameplay?

    • Sal Romano

@Zoro-FF: I’d suggest you check out some gameplay.

@XxBarretxX: Since when has Devil May Cry’s gameplay been dated? Its always been fluid and fun, way more than Heavenly Sword or Enslaved could ever be and @Sal Romano: While I agree that DmC does indeed look better than their last two attempts, it still doesn’t look as good as the Devil May Cry titles before it.

The gameplay in the old DMC are dated. Bayoentta and other games have taken the crown. Sorry bud

The game itself looked a lot better on the latest footage than it previously did, but the new Dante is without doubt the weakest point. It’s good that he is not set to replace the beloved original.

Um tha doesnt t sound like a good idea!

If they stated this was an alternate Dante the reaction wouldn’t have been so upset. I always planned on getting the game…I mean let’s face it, DMC games are fun, but I had no intentions of giving new Dante a chance. Now I will

    HAHAHA oh lawd

you KNOW the reason why they did this was because fans wouldn’t like it if it was the same guy

I like the game, looking forward to it :P

Zealot fanboyism FTW! So it’s a spinoff not a reboot now? It’s easier to swallow now lol.

I was probably gonna check it out regardless.

But It’s pretty obvious why they changed the back story. Didn’t they announce it as a prequel or an origin story at first?

    We need an alternate costume.

This always seemed pretty obvious to me. From the first trailer, where it looked like they had him locked up or something.

Perhaps its like sorta borrowing from Assassins Creed?

Some crazy dude imagines he is Dante, but in his dreams he plays the part, so its him but with Dante’s powers. At the same time he is still locked up in an asylum or whatever, but is having these dreams or whatever you want to call them, where he is in an imaginary world fighting demons as Dante?

Yea, I’m really reaching here, just some crazy guess work from me. I doubt the final product is anything like that. XD
