GungHo picks up Acquire

Acquire acquired by MMO publisher.

GungHo Online Entertainment, publisher of PlayStation Vita title Ragnarok Odyssey, has added a new subsidiary to its outfit. Acquire, developer of the Way of the Samurai series, was purchased by the company today.

Prior to GungHo, Aeria had a 50.1 percent stake in the company. GungHo purchased Aeria’s 666 shares, the 50.1 percent stake in Acquire, for 250 million yen.

GungHo hopes the acquisition means it will earn more profit and strengthen development.
