Final Fantasy XIII-2 will have one or two DLC updates a month
Also, details on the Summon Raid system.Final Fantasy XIII-2 will have paid downloadable content. Speaking to Dengeki PlayStation this week, producer Yoshinori Kitase told the magazine that new content will release every month, in the form of one or two updates, each with multiple pieces of content.
Asked about pricing, Kitase wasn’t able to speak on the subject, but said to expect a fair price for the content you’ll get.
So far, we’ve heard of few downloadable content, including new costumes and boss battles. According to Kitase, the content will be more intertwined with gameplay, where you’ll have to defeat a monster in order to obtain an item, for example.
Past downloadable content, Dengeki this week also previews the game’s Summon Raid monster capture system.
In battle, a percentage of the monsters you face will turn to crystal. When you obtain a monster, you can have up to three, each with their own roles, prepared for battle. When you switch Paradigms in battle, the current party monster will be swapped out for whichever monster holds the paradigm in the set you’re shifting to.
Your party monsters will build up a Synchro Drive Gauge over time, which allows them to unleash a powerful special attack, some of which may include quick-time events.
