Original voice-actor teases "Win-Win ending."

The new voices for Silent Hill 2 in Konami’s upcoming Silent Hill: HD Collection may be nixed in favor of the old. According to Guy Cihi, the original voice actor for game protagonist James Sunderland, the original voice actors are close to cutting a deal that will put the original voices in the HD release.

“I think we are close to a solution with Konami that will put the original voices back into the HD release,” Cihi wrote on Facebook. “Tomm Hulett called me. We had a nice chat. I am 95% sure we are going to get a Win-Win ending. All I need to do is find the damn bowling alley and talk to that guy… What was his name again?”

If you haven’t heard the new voices, listen here.

We’ll keep you updated.

Thanks, NeoGAF.

      @l1lyone:
      To be completely honest…..yes.

      I played these games so many times back in the day, that I ended up getting used to the characters and the way they were. If they are going to bring the game over, they should make stuff like that stay as it was from the beginning.

      Don’t ask me why but I just hated the new voices, neither did I think they were more realistic or better overall than the first. If we had, say, a voice acting on the level of the first Resident Evil in both games, then a new VA recording session would be at hand; that not being the case, I’ve always felt this was rather unnecessary to be honest.

      That being said, I’m glad there’s a chance we might get the old voices back where they belong. An option to switch between old and new voice work would be more than enough.
