Level-5 HD RPG impresses.

Gamersyde posted new off-screen footage of Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joou from the Tokyo Game Show this morning. The six-minute video largely is largely focused on the world map… the beautiful, wonderful, magnificent world map.

There’s a battle in there, too. And it’s on a boat. Watch it here.

Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joou is due for PlayStation 3 on November 17 in Japan.

The graphics and art gives such a DQ feeling. Yet its not. It has its own style. And it simply dazzling to look at.

In love with this game. What a gorgeous world map. I applaud console rpgs that still give us a chance to travel in a world map as seemingly huge as this one. This is the feature I love the most in my rpgs, this grand sense of adventure.

This gen, most rpgs stripped us down of world map navigation like this for some reason. Using menus to choose my travel destination is simply not the same thing as being able to walk there and be amazed by the size of a world that’s waiting for me to unravel every corner of it and every secret it may be hiding from everyone else who travels about.
