Bravely Default has job system, random encounters
Square Enix's Tomoya Asano talks new RPG.

After a Tokyo Game Show reveal, Inside Games followed up with Square Enix’s Tomoya Asano on Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, their new role-playing game for Nintendo 3DS.

Bravely Default has four main characters, one of which is the girl shown in this artwork. Above the girl, we see the “Flying Fairy” of the game’s subtitle.

Characters will battle using jobs and abilities, and like a “standard RPG,” battles will be a turn-based, random encounter situation.

Asano remained tight-lipped regarding story and sound staff. He would only say that they’re working with people who’ve never worked with Square before, and that they’re “interesting people.”

Thanks, Andriasang.

    As if I needed any extra reasons to want and love this game any more than I did :3

      Yeah, ’tis a spiritual sequel of sorts.

        @FaithlessMr: i enjoyed the 4 heroes. but the enjoyment kinda dwindled down in the end. Especially during the 4 tower side quests. Favorite character was yunita, kinda sad she was always left behind >.<

        how about you guys?

          @whiteferrero:
          The towers were annoying as hell. The game forced you to actually spend hours and hours farming gems to upgrade your equipment and getting these special weapon and armor sets from the wireless shops only to have a chance at climbing the towers. I was level 99 with all my characters and gave up on the last set of floors in the first tower because I simply had it with the cheapness of the enemies which somehow were uber powered.

          The game had it’s highs and lows, and I believe a sequel can make the original concept even better. It just needs a more ambitious story and some more interesting and fleshed out characters and there ya go.
