Silent Hill: Book of Memories, the first PlayStation Vita entry in the Silent Hill series, is a top-down multiplayer game, Konami revealed this morning at their Gamescom press conference.

In development at WayForward, the game adapts to its own, completely unrelated story. The protagonist is a custom-created character. During the conference showing of the game, three custom-made characters — named after past entries’ Harry, Maria and James — were shown playing together.

Stay tuned. More information and direct-feed media are likely to come.

Thanks, Joystiq.

Ugh, sorry but that sounds pretty bad to me. I know its a spin off but seriously, a top down, custom character, MP game? Doesn’t sound very Silent Hill to me.
