The Mass Effect community voted, and a new default female Commander Shepard was chosen. At the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle today, BioWare announced that the redhead Shepard won the vote for the default female.
To celebrate the decision, BioWare put out a wallpaper and concept illustration by new hire Patryk Olejniczak of female Shepard. See them both in high-res at the gallery.
