Official Xbox Magazine UK is teasing “one of the best games ever made reborn on Xbox 360” for its next issue, which hits newsstands on September 30.
Speaking with CVG, OXM UK editor Jon Hicks said: “I’ve been discussing it with the publisher ever since the reveal was pushed back, and I’m delighted that it’s finally ready to be seen. Unfortunately we aren’t doing the official reveal any more, as our on-sale dates don’t match up, but we will have exclusive access to the game and the studio making it.”
Though the news has just hit, it’s already being called out as one game: Syndicate. It is widely believed a reboot of the classic title is in development at Starbreeze, and will be published by Electronic Arts.
Adding more fuel to the fire, yesterday Starbreeze employee Rickard Johansson tweeted this: “Grand moment approaching. The reveal for Starbreeze and EA’s Project Redlime. Time to meet the press.” The tweet was quickly removed.
According to GameSpy, EA’s admitted to the game being in development, and it could be revealed as early as Gamescom next week.
