Disgaea 3: Return will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show, the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation has confirmed.
The PlayStation Vita port features additional content not contained in the PlayStation 3 version, including four new scenarios. These scenarios take place after the main storyline and focus on specific side characters. One of the four will feature two new characters.
During an interview with the magazine, Nippon Ichi CEO Sohei Niikawa said that the new scenarios are the Vita port’s main attraction. The last scenario is so long that you could actually say the game includes five new scenarios, he told Dengeki.
Aside from new scenarios, the Vita port will include all of the PlayStation 3 version’s downloadable content, including the entire Raspberyl scenario, 49 background tracks, 29 save data icons, and so on.
Other than that, there may be additional Vita-only features. Niikawa said that they want to make use of positional information and touch functionality. Return might also receive its own downloadable content, which would focus on characters from Disgaea 4.
According to Niikawa, load times might be a bit faster on Vita due to the system’s better memory management.
Nippon will use the response received from Disgaea 3: Return to determine what type of Vita titles they should develop moving forward.
Thanks, Andriasang.
