Last week, CyberConnect2 launched a countdown teaser site, seemingly for a new .hack game. This week, it’s been revealed to be not a game, but an all-new CG movie in the franchise.
Out in January 2012, the movie sees three friends enter the massively multiplayer universe of the online role-playing game ‘The World.’
Websites for the flick have launched on both Namco Bandai’s .hack channel and on CyberConnect2’s website. The .hack channel website contains descriptions of the three main characters, as well as a look at their MMO counterparts.
An announcement trailer was released alongside the announcement.
