Sexy game sets record

A week after launch, Atlus has said Catherine is the company’s biggest launch title ever. Out of every Atlus game ever shipped, Catherine has shipped the most units at launch. It’s set a new record.

Catherine has exceeded our highest expectations,” said Tim Pivnicny, VP of Sales and Marketing at Atlus, speaking to IGN. “It released last week to tremendous critical acclaim and fan response, bolstered by the release of a demo a couple weeks prior, and continues to generate discussion among fans for its mature themes, engrossing subject matter, and frantic, challenging gameplay.

“It is fitting, then, that Catherine can boast the largest launch in the 20-year history of Atlus, and continues to see strong sales at retail.”

Pivnicny couldn’t provide sales numbers at this time.

Catherine launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on July 26, 2011. Read our review here.

I’m happy for Atlus :) this is deserving. They always cater to their fans and do fantastic work when it comes to bringing games over to the west. Alot of companies would do well if they took some tips from Atlus.
