2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced that Borderlands 2, the sequel to 2009’s “breakout hit” Borderlands, is in development for a fiscal year 2013 release (which begins April 1, 2012) on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Borderlands 2 will feature “all-new characters, skills environments, enemies, weapons and equipment,” which all take form in an “ambitiously crafted story.” Players will “reveal secrets” and “escalate mysteries” as they traverse “unexplored new areas” of Pandora.
2K is bringing the game to Gamescom, which runs from August 17 through 21, and PAX Prime, which runs from August 26 through 28. The latest issue of Game Informer has an exclusive 12 page cover story on the game, which reveals the many details about the game, including a look at the first of one of the numerous new character classes in Borderlands 2.
