The start of the San Diego Comic-Con saw the first ever release of localized media for Tales of the Abyss on 3DS. Namco Bandai released a new trailer and set of screenshots of the game, complete with English dialogue and voice overs.

Namco also released a fact sheet, outlining these key details:

  • Captivating story and depth that is the hallmark of the Tales series – Explore the story through more than 40 hours of riveting gameplay and fully voiced anime cutscenes.
  • Stunning Visuals – Lush, colorful graphics bring attention to the detailed anime art style of artist Kosuke Fujishima. Sprawling landscapes and beautiful towns populate the world of Auldrant and bring it to life!

So the trailer made me realize how much I like Abyss. But I still would have appreciate Vesperia PS3 more…

    • Faize RoughKnightz

@Revorse: Same! I’m glad their bringing Abyss 3DS but I want Vesperia PS3 more. I don’t have a 3DS so the chance of me playing this is very slim but I will buy the game anyway just to support the series.

  • Genesis

Not to sound cruel but, you guys are going to keep wishing for Vesperia…
Sucks that it wont be coming but eh, I am over it.
Any who, once I get a 3DS, I will be buying this. I love this game

    • BizarreJelly

@Genesis: It’s not cruel, the constant Vesperia begging is getting a little old to me, should be more hoping for Xillia in my opinion. Plus the fan translation which is looking fantastic will arrive eventually so enough is enough.

On Abyss 3D it’s looking great, i’m looking forward to playing abyss with better framerates and loading times :D plus i’m glad the voice acting hasn’t been redone, I loved Abyss’ cast.

      • Genesis

@BizarreJelly: Soo true. I always ask, why do people continuously beg for it when we are getting a something new? Plus, with Xillia coming, people need to start demanding that instead of always asking about Vesperia…Graces F and Xillia are the 2 that people should be focusing on.

        • Revorse

@Genesis: there is no way to know for sure if the US is getting Xillia. And “begging” as you call it, is probably what even got Namco talking to the fans. So I don’t think “begging” is necessarily bad

          • Genesis

@Revorse: I never said stated that there was a “guarantee” that it was coming to the US. What I said was that people should look to the future games. I said with Xillia coming, people need to focus on getting that over here also instead of still complaining about Vesperia…That’s how I feel

            • DarthXehanort

@Genesis: I think fans should be “begging” for both Vesperia and Xillia.

              • Faize RoughKnightz

@DarthXehanort: If only everyone could think like you.

            • todr06

              @Genesis:
agreed, i am so sick of people who constantly bring it up. we get a new and better game than Vesperia (Graces F) and a port that will make Namco money to localize COMPLETELY NEW games like Xillia and other future titles (Abyss). if you want Vesperia, play it on 360. it is time to move on

  • RedWolfe

Is it sad that this would be the only reason I would consider picking up a 3DS this year?

Watching this trailer makes me really want to go back and play it…

  • DarthXehanort

Eh, I have a preferable version of this game on the PS2.

  • AdamBoy64

Looking forward to this game without the hilariously frustrating loading times.

the vesperia begging is getting ridiculous. we are getting graces f, a completely new (and better) game, in its place. the reason toa is coming is because it’s an easy, cheap port. namco wants to make money
