On Monday, Capcom canceled Mega Man Legends 3. The fans were, unsurprisingly, not very happy about the situation. Announcing a game that’s been requested for a decade, having fans take part in its development, and then canceling it ten months later has the potential to make supporters upset. Now, with the title canned, the fans have come together to bring it back.
We have two campaigns running — one for English audiences and the other for Japanese.
The English campaign, ‘Get Me Off the Moon,’ is being pushed on Facebook, aiming for 100,000 likes, and is already boasting an impressive 22,000. You can show your support here.
The Japanese campaign, ‘One More DASH,’ (Mega Man Legends is known as Rockman DASH in Japan) is primarily based on Twitter, but they have a website up with information on the game and its cancellation. Visit their site here. Follow them on Twitter here.
Alternatively, a thread on Capcom’s official forum is petitioning to let CyberConnect 2, developer of Asura’s Wrath, Naruto, and .hack, develop the game. Asked by Siliconera which series he’d like to develop, CC2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama said “it would be Mega Man Legends 3.”
