Tokyo Game Show 2011 detailed

This year’s Tokyo Game Show will be held at the Makuhari Messe convention center from September 15 through September 18. The CESA has released this year’s key visual and theme, and has provided details on exhibitor and attendee numbers and power usage.

This year’s key visual features the same robot-female from last year, this time on a yellow background and flying off towards the left. Her colors and build are a bit different; a triangle and X can be seen on two of her fingers, while her thumb appears to be an analog stick.

The CESA plans to cut overall power usage by 25 percent, this year, utilizing LED lighting, turning off downward escalators, and limiting power usage for exhibitors in order to save energy.

The firm expects 190,000 people to attend and currently has 146 companies registered to exhibit its halls. Last year, the show broke attendance record, with over 207,647 people at the Makuhari Messe.

One day tickets will run the general public 1,000 yen online and 1,200 yen at the door. Advanced ticket sales begin on July 13. “TGS 2011 Supports Club” tickets will also be sold for 3,000 yen, which comes with a t-shirt, pin badge, and early admission to attendees on public days.
