Square Enix “considering” Final Fantasy for Wii U

Final Fantasy may come to Wii U. Speaking with Cubed3 at E3, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase said the team is “considering” bringing the series to the newly announced Nintendo platform.

“Three or four years ago we joked around about developing a Final Fantasy game on the Wii Fit balance board,” said Kitase. “But after seeing Wii U revealed at Nintendo’s conference, we are now considering the possibilities of bringing the Final Fantasy series to the format.”

Would the Wii U get its own spinoff series — such as Wii’s Final Fantasy: Crystal Bearers — or a mainline game? Only time will tell.

    Well, I can definately imagine an entry in the Crystal Chronicles series showing up on Wii U, but obviously would like to think SE means the main franchise. A numbered FF on the system would surely be new, if nothing else.

    Is that means versus XIII will come to Wii U ? O.o
    You know , with all the rumor of the game become multiplatform to 360 , then Wii U as a more powerful console has a chance as well …

      SE is one of the most noob game companies in the world when it comes of making AAA games, instead of two games every year, they go with one every couple!
      they should put more money on new teams to make FF games and the next Kingdom Hearts, not buying new game companies like Eidos!
      they can do even both, bot why spend money on games for handhelds and not for consoles? games like FFzero should also be for consoles and more games of the same!

    I’m sure if they can put whatever game we are all thinking about, on another console, they will. The more money the better.

    I wouldn’t be surprised. Square once said they were “considering” making a sequel called FF13-2 for FF13 and look what happen. Square should FOCUS more on FINISHING the games they announced like i don’t know FFversus13. we have been waiting for ages for that game. Square better not come out and say FFversus13 is ported to Wii U and postpone the release date for the ps3 version or i will RAGE on their HQ.
