Sony nets exclusive third-party content

Sony announced PlayStation 3 will have exclusive content for four third-party titles at their E3 2011 media briefing. Saint’s Row: The Third, SSX, Need for Speed: The Run, and Battlefield 3 all sport some extra content exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version of the games.

Saint’s Row: The Third will have an exclusive “over the top” multiplayer game mode. SSX will be packaged with Japan’s Mount Fuji, which is described as an authentic replica of the real Mt. Fuji, and features ten different drop points. Need for Speed: The Run will give players access to seven additional super cars, in addition to eight super cars that will be available on all platforms. Battlefield 3 will be packaged with the hit downloadable Battlefield 1943, included on the same blu-ray as the retail game.

It seems Sony is maintaining their exclusive content strategy, then.
