SOE announces Payday: The Heist for PSN, PC
Sony Online Entertainment has announced a new PlayStation Network and PC first-person shooter, this morning. Developed by OVERKILL Software and published by SOE, the game is a squad-based shooter where players take on the role of a criminal pulling “death-defying” hests in pursuit of the next “big score.”
“As a leading publisher of independent titles for both the PlayStation Network and PC, SOE continues to innovate in the digital space with new titles that engage players with high-energy, multi-faceted gameplay experiences,” said Christopher Sturr, Executive Director of Business Development, SOE. “Payday: The Heist is a premier quality downloadable game designed to deliver a unique spin on the first person shooter genre. As an intense, gritty and unapologetic episodic cooperative shooter, Payday is packed with cocky attitude, epic Hollywood-inspired action and endless replayability.”
Payday includes six “high-intensity” heists, interactive co-op gameplay, “endless replayability” through the games dynamic environments, a “massive character progression tree”, a shout out button for commanding the crew, hostage trading, and more.
Downloadable content, including additional heists, weapons, and equipment, is planned.
Payday: The Heist will launch on PlayStation 3 and PC later this year. It will be on display at SOE’s booth at E3, next week. Check out the first set of screenshots at the gallery.
