Sony: NGP this year, PlayStation Network restoration by end of May
May 26, 2011 / 10:11 AM EDT / (@salromano)

Sony’s Next Generation Portable, or NGP, is on track for launch this year. During their earnings reporting briefing earlier today, the firm was quoted as saying the platform is still set to debut by the year’s end.

“Regarding NGP, we’re progressing with preparations towards a release at the end of the year,” read the report (via Phile-web).

PlayStation Network was also mentioned in the report. According to Sony, full restoration of both PlayStation Network and Qriocity services will be complete by the end of the month for the regions outside of Japan. For Japan, Sony will have a partial restoration in the coming days.

Thanks, Andriasang.

I have a feeling it will release right at the end of the year, in the middle of the much saught after “holiday period”. This isn’t a bad thing but I just know SO many releases will be coming out then. I personally hope for a September release, or around that time.

Well — lots of JP devs have already confirmed they’re developing games for the system. So I think you’ll see your much-desired RPGs soon enough! =D
