Rumor: NGP to launch first in the west, four first-party launch titles

At least four first-party titles will launch with Sony’s NGP later this year, a source close to Sony has told Jolt.

Uncharted, ModNation Racers, WipEout 2048, and a new title called Smart As are the games. The new Resistance title, previously shown at media events and trailers, will launch sometime between January and March 2012.

The source also “confirmed” that NGP will launch in the west first due to the ongoing troubles faced by Japan in wake of the March earthquake and tsunami.

    Shucks, was hoping for those 4 launch titles to include more between Uncharted, Killzone, God of War, and Resistance.

    That’s not so bad with Wipeout available with Uncharted though. First party titles and a 249.99 price for launch is the target I hope.

    The NGP has some quality launch titles, which is a relief. Uncharted looks great on such a powerful little device. I hope the list of launch titles increases with more developers working on more NGP games.

    Well, it’s good that it’s marked as a rumour.
    If this launch lineup is true, there’s nothing there that’ll entice me to pick it up on release.
    Still, it seems it’ll be a heck of a lot better than the 3DS launch lineup.

    Well, I got a 3DS on launch and the launch lineup is woeful. Yeah, Pilotwings is brilliant but after beating it and SFIV, theres nothing else.

    Uncharted seems like a stellar launch title though. Lets just hope theres more on the cards from third parties.

      I agree. Precisely the reason I haven’t yet picked up a 3DS. There are a good amount of games I’m looking forward to on the handheld, but they’re not out for a while.

      For those interested, they are: Professor Layton, Resident Evil: Revelations, Ocarina of Time 3DS, Tales of the Abyss, Fantasy Life, Metal Gear Solid 3, Mega Man Legends 3, and any Shin Megami Tensei game.
