Islands of Wakfu hits XBLA on March 30

Ankama Play has dated their Xbox LIVE Arcade exclusive Islands of Wakfu for March 30. The game, based off PC MMORPGs Wakfu and Dofus, is a mix of “beat’em up, shoot’em up, [and] adventure” gameplay.

Islands of Wakfu is comprised of 14 levels, filled with “gameplay switches between adenture and combat”. Two levels of difficulty are selectable: Initiate Mode (experienced players) and Goddess Mode (beginner players). It’ll feature single-player local co-op using characters Nora (of the Eliatrope class — she can teleport) and Efrim (her dragon brother — he can fly and fireballs of Wakfu).

The story is set 10,000 years before Dofus where the end of the world is at hand and Nora and Efrim must find the legendary Islands of Wakfu in order to survive. The game’s 12 achievements will provide unlocks for special items in Dofus, and for Wakfu “later on”.
