Compile Heart to launch new countdown on Thursday
March 21, 2011 / 11:09 PM EDT / (@salromano)

Compile Heart, developers of PlayStation 3′s Hyperdimension Neptunia and the Record of Agarest War series, will launch a new countdown teaser site this Thursday, March 24.

The latest issue of Dengeki played host to the revelation, but provides no hints as to what it may be (as far as we know). Our only option at this point is to wait until Thursday, where hopefully the countdown site will give off some type of clue.

Stay tuned.

Update 12:16am: Some additional details have surfaced. The project is codenamed “NPG” (no, not NGP, like the Sony handheld). Its platform is currently unknown. The following two quotes appear in the magazine, teasing a title in spirit of Hyperdimension Neptunia:

  • “What if game machines were cute girls?”
  • “That machine will shake in your hand like a little girl.”

Apparently, NPG is a revolutionary new portable system for a new generation.

Thanks, Andriasang.

Ugghh. Compile Heart. How I’ve come to hate their very name. They only offer horrible or lackluster games. TriUni was alright but they all end up as dungeon crawlers with poorly implemented creation systems. Let’s not forgot their Truth End Routes. Tri-Uni wasn’t too bad in that department but still easily possible to pass it over. Cross Edge was an abomination in nearly every aspect. Haven’t played Neptunia as I’ve heard it seem to be a step back from Tri-Uni. Shame they could mess up such an awesome concept.
